The list includes an extra holiday on Thursday, January 15, 2026 for municipal corporation elections in Maharashtra, which NSE added by a separate circular.
These festivals fall on a Saturday or Sunday in 2026, so the market isn’t closed on an extra day for them:

NSE’s holiday circular says Muhurat trading will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2026, on Diwali (Laxmi Pujan). Muhurat trading is a short, symbolic session that marks the start of the new Samvat year. The exact timings are announced by a separate circular closer to the date; we’ll add them here once NSE publishes them.
Diwali Balipratipada, two days later on Tuesday, November 10, is a full trading holiday.
The list above is for the equity and equity derivatives segments. The currency derivatives and interest rate derivatives segments have a few extra closures (bank holidays when the equity market is open), and MCX and NSE’s commodity segment set their own evening-session rules on some holidays. Check the circular for the segment you trade.
On a normal trading day the pre-open session runs 9:00 to 9:15 am IST and the normal market 9:15 am to 3:30 pm IST, Monday to Friday. See Indian stock market timings for a live clock in your own time zone, or the world market hours page to compare with other exchanges.
NSE usually publishes the next year’s holiday list in December. The 2027 list hadn’t been published when this page was checked in October 2026; we’ll add it once it’s out.
