FAQ
What is ChartWatch?
ChartWatch is a free tool for traders that builds custom TradingView watchlists from a database of over 339,000 symbols — across crypto, stocks, forex, futures, indices, bonds, funds, options and economic data — and exports them as a .txt file you can import straight into TradingView. It also includes free leverage, risk/reward, position-size and P&L calculators.
Is ChartWatch free?
Yes, completely. There's no account, no sign-up and no paywall. Build watchlists, use the calculators and download as much as you want at no cost.
Do I need an account to use ChartWatch?
No. ChartWatch requires no registration or login — every feature works without an account.
How do I import a watchlist into TradingView?
Pick an asset class and filters in the Watchlist Builder, click Generate & Download to save a .txt file, then in TradingView open the watchlist panel, click the menu (⋮), choose "Import list" and select your file. The symbols load instantly.
How many symbols can a TradingView watchlist hold?
TradingView limits each watchlist to 1,000 symbols. If your selection is larger, split it into several .txt files and import them as separate lists. ChartWatch shows a warning automatically whenever your selection exceeds 1,000.
Which markets and asset classes does ChartWatch cover?
Nine asset classes — crypto, stocks, forex, futures, indices, bonds, funds, options and economy — totalling more than 339,000 symbols, each mapped to its correct TradingView ticker format.
How often is the symbol data updated?
The symbol database is refreshed regularly so new listings and ticker changes are captured.
What do the trading calculators do?
There are four: a Leverage Calculator (position size, margin and approximate liquidation price), a Risk/Reward calculator (R-multiple and breakeven win rate), a Position Sizer (units and position value from your account and risk percentage), and a P&L Calculator (gross and net profit, fees and return percentage).
Does ChartWatch store my data?
ChartWatch needs no account and asks for no personal details. Your calculator inputs stay in your browser. Only standard server logs are kept; any future analytics or ads are covered on the Privacy page.
